My name is Heidi Cohen (right)and my partner is Colleen Demas(left). We are from Long Island, New York. About a year ago, we were working in a summer camp together teaching campers how to make friendship bracelets and lanyard bracelets. We were the most popular place to visit in camp. Kids went crazy to learn how to make these awesome bracelets.
   
One day just in everyday conversation, the idea appeared as we thought "I bet friendship bracelets and lanyard birthday parties would be very popular." And we sort of talked about it a little and then a little more and then a little more and before long that was all we could talk about. And we thought what a great idea this is! Kids love this as well as adults. So we said, "let's try it". We thought we would just do a few parties on the weekends to keep us busy and make a few extra bucks but little did we know about the success that wascoming.
   
Our little idea and little business grew so fast. Our parties are a big hit and all the kids love them. I remember the moment I  really knew this was going to take off, when a little girl at a party looked at me and said "When I grow up, I want to be a Lanyard Lady!" It was an amazing feeling that we actually took a brief conversation and turned it into an amazing career. We love our job and really enjoy going to work. We have been working very hard and learning so much. We are having so much fun doing these parties. We have met so many wonderful people and have become real business women. I'm so proud of both of us.
   
We are looking forward to seeing where this wonderful journey takes us.
